1)Over the course of the semester I've learned so many different technology styles of teaching. Throughout the semester we have learned a variety of different techniques. My favorites thus far that i plan to incorporate in my teaching style is the blogger, wikki spaces, and definately power point style teaching. 2)In essence, the project was very fun and exciting. The Christmas Carol story is a very popular novel, and the story itself has been delivered in a variety of ways over the course of the years. It was really cool that my group and I were able to create our on version for the kids at Fairview middle. My favorite part of the project was actually replacing the ghost with celebrities that the students could relate to and be amused by! I enjoyed working with my group members and overall I think the project was a big success. 3)I will use the powerpoint for teaching, wiki space for group work, and blogger as a journal. Students will enjoy working together interactively and I think this will boost student learning moral.
1)The excell part two lesson was overload for me!!! However I like the idea of creating a fun crossword puzzel. Nevertheless as simple as it may seem , I might need a manuel on how to create one for my students!
2)I'm very excited about our project. With the holiday steadily approaching, I'm happy with the overall objective of our project.
3)For our final project Emily and I went to Fairview middle to speak with our teacher. In that meeting we were able to get a clear idea of what the teacher was looking for, and she basically told us to have fun and make the story fun for the kids! So on that note my group will remix the christmas carol and give it a modern feel. We want to incorporate the powerpoint lesson and make a shorten version of the storyboard, we also plan to include a crossword puzzel that we learned with in excell at the end the story! I know the kids will enjoy!!!
1)I plan to use OnCourse, it is a system for education. It manages everything for the class room online and it can help you to monitor the progress for your students. http://www.oncoursesystems.com/ is the link enjoy!!! It will help you to be organized as a teacher and also help to stay paperless and go green. 2)I would definitely use excel for grading. I like the fact that excel does all the work and gives me a chance to focus on the students and maintain my sanity. Also if there is a special contest or something that I may have going on in my classroom, excel can help me keep track of that.3)Again i like how excel does the math and calculates the grades according to my standard. Over the course of a four quarterly semester, the excel grading system will save me a lot of time and energy. In addition, When i send home progress reports i can send the parent home with a pie/bar graph to let the parent visually see where their child is in my classroom.
1)I plan to incorporate technology as much as possible all my lessons. Technology is clearly the way of the future so it would only be fitting to use it in education. My subject matter is Language Arts/ Reading. I plan to put my students in a weekly group project that will include daily comments from all members in the group. The blogs will be a way for the students to interact about the different units we will be studying.2)Supervising the Internet shouldn't be as difficult as it may seem. Alot of websites are already unavailable to students because they are blocked by the school board. I personal plan to use technology also as a rewarding tool, so if a student finishes their project early, I will allow them to use the computer for leisurely time of no more than 15 min!3)I plan to use OnCourse, it is a system for education. 1)I'm very proud of the finishing product of my powerpoint. My color scheme was blue through out the presentation, and very welcoming to the viewing eye. My content and pictures were straight and to the point. As a student learning how to teach, I think that it is extremely important that I take my personal student experience and implement them into my teaching style. I personal hate power points that are jumbled up and busy. I tried to make my PowerPoint clear and the information flows. 2)The cool thing about PowerPoint, especially the new edition, is that there are so many features. One could turn any non virtual assignment, lesson, etc. into virtual in a matter of minutes. For example, everyone has played jeopardy before a quiz or test, power point allows you to eliminate excessive chalk hands, and turn jeopardy into a fun cool virtual game. This way it more organized and less hazard and traffic moving throughout the classroom. Students can play from there seats. 3)I love the animation effects. I know how short my attention spans can be, especially early in the morning. With all of the bonuses sound effects, clip art, and video download capabilities, I think its cool that I can teach and slide some interesting fun stuff in the mix at the same time to make class a little more interesting throughout the day!!!
1)The site that I visited was a political social networking site LawsLoop.com. Overall the site is well maintained and has some very cool features, the interface is good but not much attractive. I like the way menu works and the lightness is added bonus, however the site is a bit cluttered and maybe too busy. 2)The inspiration software is definitely an advantage. Its a great tool that assist in breaking the subject matter down in a great visual way. I love the program so much. Not only will it be easy for the students it is also easy for me to create my assignments. I'm not sure why everyone isn't using inspirations, I think that there are no disadvantages.3)Power Point will be my teaching method. Power Point is great because it puts the lesson in virtual mode. As a teacher I can have the option to make my lesson enjoyable and memorable and power point give me the opportunity to have that option. In my lessons I will use allot of videos and pictures to help the students minds to work without a word overload.
1)I think an outline map is important. Especially in writing and reading because it will allow students to map out ideas about what they are reading and writitng. I would definitely require outlines in some projects, however I won't make it mandatory with all my projects. 2)Sometimes students don't want to over plan they just want to let their creative juices take over and every student doesn't have to plan to focus. I can relate to this lack of over planning because I am an english major, and I know sometimes you can't force it! Yet the cool thing about inspiration is the versitility that the program offers.
3)Last week was great because I learned how to intensify my Internet searches. I think this will be very helpful for me personally as well as with my students in the classroom. For example if my students are working on group project or something where they need to do research, we can use our classroom computers to make an outline before we go in the library so the student knows exactly what they are looking for.
